The administrative head
office of “Maison Fontina”
is situated in
Saint-Christophe (Aosta) in
a sheltered area of more
than 6000 square meters
which has been recently
enlarged and rebuilded with
modern equipment in order to
satisfy the current market
demands.
The FONTINA DOP is still
produced as seven centuries
ago when Fontina was called
“caseus”; even though to
satisfy the demands of a
growing and evolving market
the cooperative has invested
many financial resources in
order to conform the
equipment and the maturing
storehouses.
At the Saint-Christophe's
seat a modern computer-based
assembly line has been
recently installed for the
packaging of whole Fontina
Dop cheese.
The Cooperative offers to
his customers different
types or slices of Fontina
Dop starting from slices of
250 gr to half a cheese. At
the Saint Christophe's
cooperative the modern
cutting line and the
packaging process is made in
a protected atmosphere and
gives also the possibility
to cut and package the
product with a fixed weight,
a new and interesting
opportunity for the market.
